RIP – Trayvon Martin

I know, I know, you are all wondering why it took PlayasOnly.Com so long to say something about this travesty. The facts are, in the initial phases it was just something to really analyze and observe. What I saw was a young unarmed boy murdered close range by a wannabe security guard. The media said the shooter was white, I immediately was able to point out he was Hispanic. They said he stated a racial slur – truth be told, many people do. Amongst Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and even some White dudes how many cats in the hood don’t call each other nigga? I know it turned out he supposedly said coon, but when I first heard this, what came to mind was, “ayo Nigga I’ll put 2 in you” or something like that.  I personally cannot make out what he actually says even after hearing the super enhanced audio. The latest is that he may have said cold? WTF?!?

Truth is, none of us know what REALLY happened, besides the fact that Trayvon is dead (R.I.P).  What is indeed happening though is the media has created a colossal circus out of this, one that can turn very ugly and one that further proves that we really need to be very careful with what it is we’re accepting through the mediums of television, radio, internet etc.  As the old saying goes “believe in nothing that you hear and only half of what you see”.

The way I look at it, if this case were to be taken to court right now and for some retarded reason George Zimmerman were to be found not guilty, the outcome would be worse than the Rodney King case.  Why so much spin on this case, what is the purpose of this? Is it for political gain on repealing the “Stand Your Ground” law? Was it exploited so Obama can weigh in and have a say in hopes of bringing the country closer (or dividing it).  Is it social research to further examine the hidden feelings blacks and whites hold towards injustice of one of their own, with blacks rooting for Trayvon and whites for Zimmerman (who isn’t white he’s Jew and Latino). The media holds so much power on the masses at this very moment that a riot can occur as if with the push of a button. Whatever the reason behind this, the world is watching and Justice will prevail.

When it’s all said and done, the police and everybody involved are one way or another going to feel the bite, the media included.
